Blugolds Organization Bash and First Meeting
BoB was today and JCS was there to recruit new members for the new semester! It was a great success! We had a great time and got a lot of signatures. Looks like we'll have plenty of new people for to hang out with over the coming months. Here are some photos from the event. In other news, our first meeting will be on Thursday at 6:30pm in Chancellor's Hall's TV Lounge. Be there to meet new people, eat free food, and learn more about JCS.

Hiatus
JCS is on hiatus for the summer months. We will begin meeting again once school commences in the fall. Our first "project" is the Blugold Organizations Bash. Anyone who would like to sit at the table and tell people about JCS is welcome to volunteer. I will probably call a mini meeting or send an email or something to get a plan for BOB. After BOB we will have a welcome meeting and hold elections as we ended up not doing it at the last meeting. I think it is better this way. Have a great summer!

Wow, it is really snowing outside! Anyway, some ideas for future episodes of JCS! (That was corny.) I have some movies coming. Other ideas for future meetings include...

JCS Bowling Night
We are bowling on Saturday night at seven. The place is the Hilltop center on upper campus. There is no cost to you. Unfortunately Larry and I cannot make it since we have to work, but Drew will make sure you all have a great time. If you have any questions, shoot Drew an email at harrisd@uwec.edu

Welcome Back!
Hey there JCS!
I hope everyone had a good break. Next up on our list of things to do is a Shabu-shabu party! We decided this because sukiyaki is more of a summer dish, but they are similar anyway. We’ll be cooking up a storm on the 5th of February in KT’s basement at 6pm as usual. We will be bringing signup sheets for bowling. I will also post a reminder on the site in case you can’t make it to this coming meeting. Other business includes the study group. As of now we are planning on Tuesdays at 5pm. This group is for serious study, with a little socializing. We will probably start our “jyuku” in a few weeks. I will send an email letting everyone know. Anyone who needs help, or would like to provide help with Japanese is welcome to come. All levels are welcome. If you are more interested in the socializing aspect, then you should check out Coffee hour which will be on Fridays at 4pm in the Davies Center. Another thing that we mentioned doing is doing a little play and maybe some calligraphy at the Children’s Museum again this year. Let’s think of some Japanese stories that we can do a play on. I really could use some ideas, or I’m going to insist on Kaguya-hime. Last year we did Momotaro and it was a lot of fun. Please participate.
